Import contacts from Google Workspace directory to Contactzilla

If your organisation uses Google Workspace, you can import your entire domain directory directly into a Contactzilla address book.

Setup Requirements

  • Google Cloud Project: Create a project in the Google Cloud Console.
  • Enable API: Enable the ‘Admin SDK API’.
  • OAuth Consent: Configure as ‘Internal’.
  • Credentials: Create a Web application OAuth client ID and Secret.
    Redirect URI: https://contactzilla.app/oauth2/google/callback
  • Scopes: Add the following as a sensitive scope:
    https://www.googleapis.com/auth/admin.directory.user.readonly

Steps

  1. Add to Contactzilla: In Team Settings > OIDC, add the Google Connector with your Client ID, Secret, and the required scope.
  2. Authorize: Hit ‘Connect’ and complete the OAuth flow.
  3. Import: Select ‘Google Workspace Directory Users’ in the Import menu.
  4. Sync Settings: Choose sync frequency and mode (Full Refresh – Overwrite recommended).
  5. Mapping: Follow the mapping process similar to other importers.
